Ladies European Tour visits Ålands Golfklubb and Slottsbanan in 2022

In September 2022 Ålands Golfklubb hosted a tournament in the Ladies European Tour. Between September 1st and September 3rd the Åland 100 Ladies Open by Ålandsbanken was held at Slottsbanan. During three days about 120 players from the international golf elite settle for a price pool of 250,000 euros.

Travel to Åland

Please keep in mind that it can be good to reserve your accommodation well in advance, especially if you are planning hotel accommodation during your stay in connection to the competition. Directions to Ålands Golfklubb

If you drive your own car to the event we kindly ask you to keep in mind that it is positive for both the environment and the parking situation if visitors share a ride to the location. Map and directions to Ålands Golfklubb can be found here.

Parking

The parking spaces at Ålands Golfklubb are limited during the event. Temporary parking spaces a short distance from the club house will be made available over the competition days. Parking staff will provide directions on appropriate parking spaces in connection with your visit.

Services at the facility

During the competition days the audience has access to restaurant and café services by the event area. The facility also has toilets available for visitors. In the club house area visitors can get access to a free wireless network.

For those who plan to play on our second course, Kungsbanan, during these days (Thursday-Saturday) we would like to inform in advance that changing rooms and saunas are reserved for the competition and will therefore not be available for guest players.

Information for visitors

Spectators are welcome to the facility to follow the competition up close. No entrance tickets are needed for spectators. However, it is extremely important that the audience follows the etiquette rules that apply on a golf course and in particular the rules that apply during a competition. During the event a large number of hosts will be available on site to help answer questions.

For those who wish to follow the competition from front row Ålands Golfklubb will soon begin the sale of a special picnic chair that gives access to attractive spectator areas near the greens where everything happens.The chair is available at the club - get your in the information for 50 euros.

Competition days and tee times

The exact schedule for the competition days will be published when the registration time for the competition has expired, probably a week before the start of the competition. Below you can find a preliminary game schedule: 

  • Thursday, September 1st: First start around 08:30, last start around 13:10
  • Friday, September 2nd: First start around 08:30, last start around 13:10
  • Cut after Friday’s game, the 60 best players advance to Saturday’s final round. 
  • Saturday, September 3rd: First start around 08:30

Play Slottsbanan in a championship setting

On Sunday September 4th, the day after the competition final, visitors have a unique chance to play Slottsbanan in a championship setting. On this day flags will be in the same position as they were during the final round and from tee you’ll be offered challenging shots towards fairways and greens. Players will have a tough but fun match against the course. 

The championship package includes:

  • Greenfee at Slottsbanan on Sunday
  • A nice meal including a drink (wine, beer, soft drink) in Golfrestaurangen
  • Goodie bag with Åland goodies that can be enjoyed during the round
  • 3-pack logo balls from Ålands Golfklubb
  • An opportunity to compare your own game with the professional ladies results during the round and also automatic participation in a competition with exclusive prizes. 
  • A unique piece of jewellery from Ålands GULDVIVA will be raffled off among all the players who play Slottsbanan on this day. The winners of the Åland 100 Ladies Open will receive the same piece of jewellery in connection with the award ceremony the day before. 

The price of the Championship package is 275 euros/person and the number of places is limited. A significant part of the surplus from Sunday’s sales is reserved for future initiatives to attract girls to junior and youth activities at Ålands Golfklubb.
